BIOGRAPHY

Tim is a seasoned trial lawyer who is board certified in Civil Trial Law and Construction Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has significant first-chair trial experience before juries, judges, and arbitrators in complex commercial, construction, and energy cases. Tim has also been inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a national, invitation-only association of experienced trial lawyers and judges who have tried a significant number of jury trials to conclusion as the lead trial lawyer.

Drawing upon his significant trial experience and 18+ years of providing general business counsel to companies of all sizes, Tim effectively and efficiently provides legal and business solutions for his clients. His experience includes commercial, construction, intellectual property, employment, and energy-related matters. Tim relies on his experience in strategically advising clients through disputes ranging from routine to bet-the-company stakes.

In addition to his prowess in the courtroom, Tim has built up substantial law firm leadership experience that includes managing his eponymous firm, previously chairing a national practice group for energy and construction legal issues, and developing local summer associate programs. His passion for the law is evident in the work he puts in for each client, and his successes speak for themselves.

Outside of running his own firm, Tim’s community involvement has included serving as a member of several Houston Bar Association committees, trustee for Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, board member of Innovative Humanitarian Solutions, Inc., and chair of Houston Christian University’s Alumni Association.

  • Obtained plaintiff’s jury verdict for 100% of damages sought for healthcare client during COVID-19
  • Summary judgment on $65 million of renewable natural gas trade secret claims in federal court
  • $96.5 million jury verdict in five-week oil and gas trial
  • Successfully defended client in jury trial concerning alleged $50 million + investment fraud scheme
  • Defended summary judgment obtained through appeal to Texas Supreme Court in insurance fraud case
  • Obtained complete reversal of $2.7 million judgment against oil and gas client
